Tap the Power of Your Mind to Lose Weight Effortlessly

Losing weight is commonly a struggle. Over two-thirds of the adult U.S. population is overweight or obese. The vast majority of these people would like to lose weight. Why haven’t they? Losing weight successfully requires the utilization of all your resources. Using the power of your mind to help with your weight-loss can tip the scales in your favor. Use the power of purpose and habits to change your behavior: Become a person who places a priority on health, moderation, and exercise. Changing your behavior is part of the solution to losing weight. A more important part of the equation is changing your identity – how you think of yourself. If you consider yourself as an overweight person taking healthy actions, success will be a challenge.

I THINK YOU ARE SCARED TO LOSE WEIGHT

There are a few reasons you can never get under that 180-200 mark, and none are what you think. It isn’t because you can’t commit to Paleo, Keto, Galveston or Calorie counting. It’s not because you aren’t doing enough cardio or gym work either. I think you’re scared. No, I KNOW you’re scared. This is all you’ve ever known. This is who you think you ARE— this is ALL you 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 you are and will ever be. At some point in life, someone took your power from you. Or you gave it away.

The words or actions they said made you believe in this identity and feel less of yourself. Now you say this isn’t who you want to be, you say you hate this, and you know what’s the worst part? I BELIEVE you. I believe you because I too have been stuck in pain, wanting more, but also finding an odd comfort in the suffering.

I also believe you THINK this weight loss would mean you could no longer have your Starbucks or Dunkin on the way to work, or be able to curl up in a warm blanket with a glass of wine and snacks, while watching your favorite TV Series or Movie. This weight loss would mean a new friend group who doesn’t let you play small, a new way to spend your weekends that doesn’t leave a hangover, a new way to view yourself each morning you get ready to leave. Scariest of all, losing this weight, would mean losing all you’ve ever known… it would be as if you were losing “yourself” literally.

At Fat Butts Are Us, we recognize all of this. We help you take back that stolen power, we help you develop self-love and discipline, but most importantly, we help you find yourself after feeling like you’ve lost it all.

You don't have to do this alone. We might just have a spot for you in our family, when you’re ready!

TIP 1

Chances are you already know what has worked for you in the past and what simply does not work. Learn from your history. Stick with what works. Develop rituals to keep it going. Use timers, alarms and reminders on your phone and computer to cue you when it is time to eat or take a five minute walk around the building and up/down a flight of stairs.

TIP 2

Develop some fast and easy breakfast meals. Protein bars or shakes may be a good substitute, but skipping breakfast is a set up for overeating later in the day or eating unhealthy, fast foods for a pick-me-up.

TIP 3

Flexibility is the key to long term success when making lifestyle changes. Consider ‘saving’ your calories from earlier in the day or the week to eat more calories for special events. Some people who manage their weight and health successfully increase their exercise time to accommodate occasional splurges or meals that are not on the usual menu.

TIP 4

Parties and those dreaded cookies and pastries at work can be one of the biggest struggles for people who are trying to eat healthy. If you go to a party, eat a full healthy meal before you go.
